Michael J. Fennell, Ph.D., is Director of the Cook Campus Animal Care Program and Assistant Director for the Rutgers Office of Laboratory Animal Services. Dr. Fennell has held several positions in the field of animal care and use, including floor level technician work at SmithKline Pharmaceutical, supervisor at the Fox Chase Cancer Research Center, and manager, assistant director and director at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Dr. Fennell has broad-based experience with many animal species. In addition to traditional laboratory animals, he has worked with horses at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and poultry at Rutgers. Dr. Fennell also served on the faculty at Delaware Valley College, teaching courses in Laboratory Animal Science. He holds an adjunct faculty position in the Rutgers Department of Animal Sciences.
