Positions Held:

  • January 1999 – Present - County Agent III (Assistant Professor), Rutgers Cooperative Extension - Based in the Monmouth County Extension office.

  • 1997-1999 – High School Science Teacher in biology and earth science.

  • 1977-1997 – Biologist - BASF Corporation, Agricultural Research and Development

  • Entomological Specialist - managed a national testing program with 30 corporate field biologists, over 75 university researchers and several government agencies.

  • Research Representative - developed new cultural programs for agriculture, liaison with university leaders and funded research.

  • NJ Department of Environmental Protection Co-Principal Investigator - 80% with Dr. Roy Meyer – DEP Pesticide Management Practices and Reduction of Pesticides in Surface Water

  • Natural Resource and Conservation Service Grant - Principal Investigator  - 40%

  • Farm Stewardship – Small Farm Management Principal Investigator – 30% Chair – NJDEP Grant

  • NJ Department of Environmental Protection Grant - Volunteer Monitoring Programs for Monmouth County Watersheds

  • NJ Department of Environmental Protection Grant - Total Daily Maximum Loads for Monmouth County Watersheds

  • NJ Department of Environmental Protection Grant - Area 12 Watershed Management Partnership 2000 – 2002

  • NJ Department of Environmental Protection Grants – Wreck Pond Watershed Partnership

  • SARE Grant – Equine Pasture Management

  • USDA-NRI Ethnic Vegetable Marketing and Production

  • US-AID for Africa – Agricultural Assessment and opportunities

Activities:

  • Pasture management - toured and surveyed over 125 horse farms in Central NJ, joined the Pasture Program Team and became an adjunct of the Equine Science Center

  • Compiled and edited a 100-page Equine Management Pasture Manual from the equine working group

  • Educational Advisor - FFA and Biotechnology High School Instructor – Rutgers courses Organic Agriculture and Issues with Environmental Pollutants
