EQUINE SCIENCE CENTER WEBSITE FEATURES BREAKING NEWS

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (July 12, 2004) – As a courtesy to New Jersey’s equine public, the Equine Science
Center now features memos from the New Jersey Department of Agriculture’s Division of Animal Health on its website. These
breaking-news items cover important equine health topics. Recent memos have detailed information about vesicular stomatitis
outbreaks, quarantines for Equine Herpes Virus-1, and a West Nile Virus survey for veterinarians. The memos can be found at
www.esc.rutgers.edu – click on the “Horse Owners” menu item.
The NJDA, a partner organization with the Equine Science Center, maintains disease control
programs to protect the health and well being of livestock in New Jersey. The Equine Science Center is an initiative
of Cook College at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. It is dedicated to the well being of horses and the
