RUTGERS EQUINE SCIENCE CENTER
PRESENTS FIRST ‘SPIRIT OF THE HORSE’ AWARD
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (January 28, 2006) – Sandra M. Denarski, a Johnson & Johnson executive who took up riding just four years ago, today received the first “Spirit of the Horse” award sponsored by the Rutgers Equine Science Center. The presentation took place at the New Jersey Department of Agriculture’s Breeders Awards Dinner.
The award recognizes an individual whose life has been profoundly changed because of his or her involvement with horses and who has acknowledged the impact by giving back to horses or the horse industry.
According to Dr. Karyn Malinowski, director of the Equine Science Center, Ms. Denarski used her long-time dream of becoming a rider to motivate her remarkable weight loss. Her decision to regain a healthy lifestyle has had an enormously positive influence on her health and general well-being. “She is giving back through substantial donations to horse programs in New Jersey, including becoming a member of the ‘Community of 50 for Equine Excellence,’ and through her work in the war against obesity,” Dr. Malinowski said.
Ms. Denarski is general manager of Johnson & Johnson Finance Company. Her trainer is Karen Lesko Molnar, a certified riding instructor based in Allentown, NJ. |
